Kathleen Tamborlane, Sixth year certificate, School Psychology, M.S. School Psychology, B.A., English, has been a School Psychologist for the East Lyme, CT school system and The Williams School in New London, CT. She was an assistant to the Director of Housing and Student Life at Georgetown University and was a Visiting Professor of Special Education at Connecticut College. She has twenty years of experience in college and boarding school placement and is a counselor who specializes in adolescents and school problems.

JoAnne Carter, M.A.T., B.A., English, Certificate in School Readiness, served as Assistant Head of School, Director of Admissions and Middle School Principal at The Williams School in New London, CT. She has been a classroom teacher at the elementary, middle, high school and college levels. She specializes in college and boarding school placement, student problems, curriculum development, and independent school management. She serves as a consultant to The Country School in Madison, CT where she is a member of the Board of Trustees.

Daryl Capuano: Education Solutions and Daryl Capuano’s company The Learning Consultants Group work collaboratively on a variety of educational programs. Daryl is a nationally known expert on the education industry; a leading test preparation and academic success teacher; as well as an admissions counselor. Daryl has developed innovative techniques to enhance test-taking and academic success. He graduated from Penn Law School, where he was named to Who’s Who in American Law Students, and also received an M.G.A. from Penn’s Fels Center of Government. Daryl won an Equal Justice Foundation Fellowship for which he served at The Brookings Institute, the nation’s top think tank. As an undergraduate, Daryl graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and was named Outstanding Student in his concentration. After law school, Daryl was a prosecutor in Philadelphia and Washington, DC. Thereafter, Daryl transitioned to the education sector as Vice-President and General Counsel for MindGrow, an A&E television funded media-education company while simultaneously starting The Learning Consultants Group.

Tracy Shiring: M.S. Special Education, B.A. Elementary Education/Special Education, Sixth Year Program, School Administration is a former Special Education and Mathematics teacher for Westbrook Public Schools and The Devereaux Glenholme School in Washington, CT. Tracy specializes in the design and implementation of programs that meet the needs of unique students with learning differences, including Non-Verbal Learning Disability, Dyslexia and Autism Spectrum Disorders. She is available to work with parents and students to serve as a liaison with school personnel both at informal meetings and PPTs. School Systems also hire her to help design Individual Educational Plans and serve as part of a multi-disciplinary team. She is a mediator who specializes in helping parents and children understand the nature of a disability and the rights and services that are provided under the law. She is noted for her ability to work amicably with parents and schools to resolve issues concerning the creation of the best program to meet the student’s needs.

David Winer: Ph.D. Psychology has been a member of the Trinity College faculty since 1966. He is an Associate Professor who served as Dean of Students from 1976-1998. As Dean he had administrative responsibility for all student services and had extensive experience with students and parents regarding academic issues, taking time away from college, personal challenges, and situational problems. He has spoken and consulted for many years at preparatory schools and colleges on many topics including college adjustment and student behavior. David Winer is currently President of the Board of Trustees of the Old Lyme-Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library.
