Experienced School Psychologists, Special Educators and Curriculum
Co-ordinators work with students with a variety of school problems.
Individualized psycho-educational testing is available through our
office as well as representation at school PPT – Planning
and Placement Team - meetings. The staff at Education Solutions
provides problem-solving consultation with parents, students and
school personnel on academic, social and behavioral issues.
Alternative Educational Programs: There are times
when students require alternative educational programs that may
include structured programs and schools for the underachiever, therapeutic
boarding schools, wilderness programs, residential treatment centers
and alternatives to college. A decision to place a child in an alternative
setting is stressful for an entire family; our experienced staff
is there to support the family’s needs and through extensive
research, determine the most appropriate placement in a time of
crisis. After a child is placed, we provide on-going assistance
to the family and professionals working with the student and facilitate
post-program options in order to enable a student to return to a
more traditional setting.
Referrals for students with school problems come to Education Solutions
from pediatricians, counselors, classroom teachers, school administrators,
psychiatrists and families, themselves. We are skilled in working
with other professionals to insure that a student’s needs
are confidentially and competently met in a timely and well-coordinated
manner. Our team includes members of the Connecticut School Psychologists
Association, and we regularly attend national conferences sponsored
by NATSAP – National Association of Therapeutic Schools and
Programs.
